Excerpt from Dr Dash’s upcoming book Untreated

“Depression can happen to anyone, regardless of their background, but it doesn’t have to defeat a person. I now know I can control my depression with the skills I have acquired. I advise others not to suffer alone. Silence leaves us most vulnerable. When depressed, we may think it will never end and that it will overcome us. However, I have learned that there are things I can do about it. I can examine and correct my thinking, exercise, eat healthily, seek connections with family or friends, and engage in mood improving activities, among other things. I can endure symptoms, but I’ve also learned how to shorten their duration and their intensity. This is not the case for everyone, but it does work for many.”
